Get IMAP to Gmail

I have a work email account (Exchange) that will only authenticate via IMAP. I would like to get that mail to my gmail because I like the interface (no comments on that please) and I would like to have all the email go to one place. On my main laptop I download and use mutt, so I am comfortable and familiar with using getmail an nsmtp. I'm thinking I will get a small VPS server and do either:
A. Get mail from IMAP server and forward to gmail
or
B. Get mail from IMAP and run a POP3 server and have gmail collect it.

Does anyone have an suggestions for:
0. A good article somewhere that addresses this specific scenario.
1. Which would be the better (as in easier to set up and most reliable)?
2. The best way to do that better set up?
3. Any resources for actually accomplishing it. (I have managed mail servers before but things always seem to take a lot of googling).
