A couple of suggestions:
A bit more eye candy could be usefull if it is to be used on an everyday basis by some people.

I doubt he'll change that. The philosophy of arch is to keep it simple. Just like the default arch grub package has no patch to enable the splashimage(at least that's the way it was at .96-4).

Don't see it, you can get a bit more of eye candy and still keep it simple.  But it's okay, I'm already halfway on my own fvwm scripts smile A couple of more and everything can to a large extend be done from menu interfaces smile

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

Eye candy and other "goodies" take a back seat when your developing a program -last I knew rasat still wasn't finished with it.

This is a screenshot thread, so please continue with them. If you wan't to further discuss ArchWM-base, please do so on the "ArchWM-base" thread in the contributions forum.

I thought 0.5 would be the final version. But indeed, this is a screenshot thread smile

I've decided to give Gnome a go.

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

pressh: Not everyone considers the same stuff eye candy, so allowing people to install packages on their own in order to achieve eye candy would be ideal.

I swapped pypanel for fbpanel due to pypanel's random crashes, slowness, and the fact it did not always start with the rest of the stuff. fbpanel fits the bill very nicely though.

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

Just reading more about ArchWM on the user contribution page. I'm sorry for my misunderstanding before *SHAME*, didn't knew the users should supply the themes. So after all, the idea sounds quite good big_smile

Hi.

My archbox with xfce4 and some plugins. Nothing shiny, only the necessary.

Looks like a variation of the industrial theme.

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

Yeah I know... I've been looking for a clean, white Industrial theme for some time.

(Looks sort of like Whiteplate, but without the blue.)

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

More Fvwm goodness. Changed my wm decoration to look more like xfwm's tyrex theme. Also added the ability to have your terminal drop from the top of the screen on a keypress, similar to the application tilda, but without taking 13mb of ram to do so. config is here.

omgpro: The panel at the bottom is part of the FVWM setup.
