network fails to reinitialize after suspend

I think this has been happening since the last pacman update, netcfg and inetutils were updated.
Network and wifi work fine when I boot but if I suspend the PC, after it wakes up the panel icon says networks are "Unamanged".
If I run rc.d restart networkmanager, it says [Fail].
If I run systemctl start NetworkManager.service, it says something about the dbus that doesn't work. Then I tried rc.d restart dbus and I got a black screen with a bunch of messages saying gdm_binary could not connect to system bus fail socket /run/dbus/system_bus_socket no such file or directory

(I wish I could be more helpful, I don't know in which log to look - maybe someone can guide me)
