UEFI

Hello all

I have a very similar problem on a new archlinux install. To sum it up :

Mobo : Intel DH77DF
CPU: i5 3470S

I installed Arch in UEFI mode (my grub2 is on the EFI system partition, BIOS UEFI option is enabled, etc)
I added intel_agp and i915 to the modules in the mkinitcpio.conf.

I did not update the bios yet, I'll check tonight the exact version that was provided with the board.
I did not fiddle with kernel boot options
I do not have these errors in the dmesg BUT

I tried lxde, desktop starts, direct rendering is apparently ON but starting glxgears stalls the machine (something like 1FPS) and there seems to be an heavy load.
E17 crashed (computer frozen, kernel panics) on the first use of compositing, I think.

I'm not sure what to do next...

Just be carefull with the bios update. I read a lot of troubling posts on Intel forums about their UEFI BIOS and Linux.

I had to downgrade mine after i updated in order to get it to boot in UEFI. Don't know if its linux to blame or Intel though.

There's a bug in current mesa which occurs only on Ivy Bridge stepping 9 CPUs . Try mesa from git. Here's my thread about this problem and a bug report:
