FS#28683: closed bug still active - solved

I recently upgraded all my machines to (pure) systemd to see what the fuzz is all about. I must say that everything worked fine except for netcfg looking for /etc/rc.d/functions.
I found a matching bug here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/28683?o … 879&status[0]= which is marked as solved since a few months. How come that I am seeing the errors then? I tried netcfg-git from AUR with the same results and went looking for a place where the patch got applied and found nothing.

Should I report the bug again? Where did the patch go?

Request a re-open if you feel it is still present.

That bug report references the arch hooks (/usr/lib/network/hooks/arch) which doesn't exist in the latest package. The only file that references /etc/rc.d/functions is /usr/lib/network/hooks/initscripts and that checks for it's existence before continuing.

The latest version of netcfg (2.8.10-1) does not have that file (/usr/lib/network/hooks/arch). As a matter of fact, it isn't in any official package. Check which package owns that file and your netcfg version.

Re: FS#28683: closed bug still active - solved

As already explained - /usr/lib/network/hooks/arch no longer exists, so you guys must be using some old netcfg release.

Make sure you have the current 2.8.10-1 package.

Are you sure that your system is up-to-date? Like Stebalien said, "/usr/lib/network/hooks/arch" no longer exists.

2.8.10-1 is the latest version of netcfg, what do you have installed?

EDIT: Bah, too slow.

core/netcfg 2.8.10-1 [installed]
    Network configuration and profile scripts
# pacman -Qo /usr/lib/network/hooks/arch
error: No package owns /usr/lib/network/hooks/arch

so deleting it should fix it?

Re: FS#28683: closed bug still active - solved

Hi,

so I found the problem.
It was a call to /etc/rc.d/ntpd in a post-up section of a local lan profile. As I switched to systemd only, it obviously stopped working;-)
