installing with the latest media I no longer have an /etc/rc.d file and it's not needed.
everything working as it should.

Re: [Solved] Installting A Pure systemd System From Scratch

Just a quick update - I ended up using a mixed system.
That is, adding init=/bin/systemd to kernel parameters and not removing anything.
rc.conf is completely empty and everything seems to work just fine.

Re: [Solved] Installting A Pure systemd System From Scratch

I'll try to install pure systemd from scratch when it settle down and everything will be prepared - installcd, init scripts for my custom packages and so on.

Re: [Solved] Installting A Pure systemd System From Scratch

I thought I was ready for pure systemd, but when I removed systemd-sysvcompat I could no longer boot and am stuck at "/sbin/init does not exist".

"open source is about choice"
No.
Open source is about opening the source code complying with this conditions, period. The ability to choose among several packages is just a nice side effect.
