Network Manager doesnt detect tty/ACM0 for Broadband Network

Hi all,

I have just installed Arch Linux and slowly getting acquainted to it. I have a mobile broadband connection via GPRS. Previously I was using Zenwalk OS and the Network Manager used to detect my device as soon as it was connected (provided the kernel module cdc_acm was enabled and 'dialout' group was added for that user).

I tried the same in Arch linux, but the Network manager though has options for connecting to Mobile Broadband, doesn't detect my device.

Somehow, I am using the Mobile broadband by using wvdial (had to do trial and error to fix it), but I am interested to know, why the Network Manager failed and hence think about fixing the issue.

Can anyone please guide me regarding this issue and help me out to sort the problem ?

Thanks in advance smile
