Can an iwl4965 driver or the card cause the laptop to randomly freeze?

My laptop randomly freezes sometimes (it's a strange freeze, the screen goes black, nothing's responding, but my LED-s are lighting and the fan is on too). I've never witnessed it actually, I so assumed it's overheating or something. But now I witnessed it and it wasn't warm at all. I have a HP 6910p, 3.3.8-1-ARCH kernel (x86_64) and this is in my errors.log:

Looks like the firmware is doing something funny.  Apparently, you have the firmware installed.
I changed the kernel one time, and the intel wireless went from working to not booting.
Sometimes if the connection to the router isn't stable, it can slow things up.

I may have to CONSOLE you about your usage of ridiculously easy graphical interfaces...
Look ma, no mouse.

Tia89: No, I haven't and it's going on since I installed the system I guess.
nomorewindows: My connection to the router seems to be stable (Linksys WRT54GL with OpenWrt Backfire in an apartment the size of about 50-60 m^2, signal level around -80 dBm).

Does it help to blacklist the microdode module?

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

It's not even loaded according to `mkinitcpio -v`

This brings back bad memories for me. sad

I don't know if it's related, but here was my experience: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=101844 and someone else that had a similar problem: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=139023
