Hello everyone
I am an Italian Arch Linux user. I really love this community and I really appreciate your work and help I'd like to join you to enhance even more my Arch experience
But let's get to business. I've been playing with this distro for a while on my laptop and I decided to put it on my desktop pc as my main OS instead of M$ Windows.
I've got a fake Raid volume set up with IMSM made up by two hdds on a RAID1 configuration (single NTFS partition) which dmraid finds under /dev/md126p1. I can mount it and use it but I have isolated three anomalies (probably related) that I don't know how to solve:
1) If I launch GParted, the program will endlessly scan the devices: if the RAID volume is mounted it displays just "scanning all devices"; if not I read "scanning /dev/md126p1".
2)Even if the unmounting command seems to complete (lsblk shows the volume unmounted) I can't mount the device again:
Error mounting /dev/md126p1 at /run/media/et3rnity/Storage: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=100,dmask=0077,fmask=0177" "/dev/md126p1" "/run/media/et3rnity/Storage"' exited with non-zero exit status 18: Failed to write lock '/dev/md126p1': Resource temporarily unavailable
Error opening '/dev/md126p1': Resource temporarily unavailable
Failed to mount '/dev/md126p1': Resource temporarily unavailable
3) If I mount the volume (even if later I unmount it) my machine takes several minutes to shutdown (while normally it takes less than 10 seconds).
I'm running Arch x64 with the latest kernel (3.5.4-1). I have a pure systemd configuration and dmraid daemon running..
Thanks for all your help guys, I hope I'll be able to help you back soon

Oh, really sorry about that (and about not reading the rules, of course...!)

UPDATE: I solved the problem removing completely mdadm. Now parted works fine and I can mount and umount the device correctly. Shutdown hangs, but that's another kind of problem. Is there any cons in removing mdadm? I have read that mdadm and dmraid may conflict with each other, would it be helpful to mention it in the wiki?
Anyway, I'm marking the thread as solved.
