"Failed to enable AA" error

 ~ 33/38 % dmesg | grep 'error'
[ 1.214795] ata1.00: failed to enable AA (error_mask=0x1)
[ 1.221195] ata1.00: failed to enable AA (error_mask=0x1)

I am getting this error every time I boot.
I saw https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=138993 and obviously the error is the same, but I have been researching and can't  find what is causing this problem.

Re: "Failed to enable AA" error

I found this post which gave some boot options that centos use to fix that apparently. The thread ends there so it will be up to you to test them and see. There are a few reports on that error tho.

I seem to recall using the boot options "ide0=noprobe ide1=noprobe" on
CentOS 4 and CentOS5 to prevent the SATA controller from being used as a
legacy (lower performance) IDE controller.

I tried adding those options in the APPEND section of syslinux.cfg, but that did not work. By 'boot options' does it mean bootloader options? Or is this something else?

Re: "Failed to enable AA" error

They are kernel boot options, in grub they would go on the kernel line. I don't use syslinux but looking at the wiki for it you added the options in the right place. I guess they aren't going to work.
