Random mouse disconnection

My usb mouse is not working smoothly: it randomly stops working for a couple of seconds, which is really annoying.

dmesg outputs this sort of stuff:

[179476.982089] usb 4-1: >USB disconnect, device number 68
[179477.162096] hub 4-0:1.0: >unable to enumerate USB device on port 1

I have tried plugging the mouse in different USB ports, it's no use. I have no problem whatsoever with other usb devices.

Thanks for any help.
