NFS issue after upgrade to 3.6.2

I had NFS running until I upgraded to 3.6.2. I read this post which suggested that nfsv4 needed to be added to initcpio. I did that and nothing changed.

To try and get NFS working again I downgraded the kernel back to 3.5.5.1. During that process i got the following

>>> Updating module dependencies. Please wait ...
>>> Generating initial ramdisk, using mkinitcpio. Please wait...

I have checked mkinitcpio which has the following in it

# MODULES
# The following modules are loaded before any boot hooks are
# run. Advanced users may wish to specify all system modules
# in this array. For instance:
#     MODULES="piix ide_disk reiserfs"
MODULES="nfsv4"
