So I've been running arch for a month now and everything has been going great. . . Until I decided to switch from netcfg to wicd. So what I did was switch from using the net-auto-wireless daemon to using dbus and wicd . I removed all the other networking daemons and now my wireless card isn't shown under IP link. When I run lsmod it shows the wireless driver isnt being loaded. When I try to manually load the driver with modprobe I get this error "ERROR: could not insert 'iwlwifi': Exec format error"
The wireless card I'm using is Intel WiFi 5300. Everything was working fine with net-auto-wireless. . I probably should have left well enough alone. If anyone has any ideas that could help that would be awesome. I feel that if I could just get the driver to load that would fix everything.
Pretty easy fix actually. I think it had something to With the system upgrade I did. I had compat wireless drivers installed. So after the update it must've done something to them. All I had to do was reinstall the compat wireless drivers. And everything is good to go.
