[Solved] Can't boot: Udevd won't find libacl.so.1

I booted once this morning, did pacman -Syu, which only installed linux 3.6.5 and a new cmake, and immediately shut down after that.

Now it won't boot anymore, for a seemingly unrelated issue: It's "booting kernel", "Running early hook [udev]", and then:

[udevd]: error while loading shared libraries: libacl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've reverted to 3.6.4 via LiveCD, checked for that file (it exists) and reinstalled acl, attr and systemd. No change.

Any ideas?

You need to regenerate your initramfs images.

Thank you, worked. Don't get why, though. The linux package has pacman do that automatically, doesn't it?

Sure, no idea why you lost a lib, but mkinitcpio threw an error at you if it didn't properly find libacl.so.
