[SOLVED] Arch Linux installation halts

Hello.

I'm installing Arch Linux (32 bit) on a virtual machine with VirtualBox. When I begin the installation procedure, the command window halts at:

Arch Linux 3.6.4-1-ARCH (tty1)

archiso login: root (automatic login)
root@archiso ~ # [ OK ] Started Initializes Pacman keyring.
[ OK ] Reached target Multi-User.
_

Help?

Hit return.  I think you will find you are logged in as root, bit a systemd message arrived just after the log in.

Re: [SOLVED] Arch Linux installation halts

It looks like messages are displaying over the login.  Perhaps the getty.service doesn't have type=idle.

Can you just hit enter for another prompt and/or type commands there?

Re: [SOLVED] Arch Linux installation halts

Not but seriously... I've hit return (enter) 7 times, and got these solutions options;

root@archiso ~ #
root@archiso ~ #
root@archiso ~ #
root@archiso ~ #
root@archiso ~ #
root@archiso ~ #
root@archiso ~ #

Now, If something can explain to me how this was marked as SOLVED, I'd be willing to hear how...... and,... I am being good to everyone (and being better than just good by telling the truth when it hurts wink

I'm sorry, I don't get what is that supposed to mean.

No.
Open source is about opening the source code complying with this conditions, period. The ability to choose among several packages is just a nice side effect.

You are at a CLI screen, read the beginners guide and it will tell you what to do...

Re: [SOLVED] Arch Linux installation halts

As one who values truth even when it hurts, you definitely need to read the beginners guide or more likely - if a command prompt makes you think something is wrong - you need to chose a different distro.

Re: [SOLVED] Arch Linux installation halts

Thread was solved, now it is either trolling or a case of terminal WTF.

In any event, this is done. Closing.
