kernel 3.7.0 kernel panic when switching from AC to battery

(discussion started here)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Boot kernel 3.7.0 to gui or console
2. If not already running on battery do so
3. Connect AC power supply -> kernel panic

Here is my bug report.

And here is another one I just found which refers to this commit as a possible cause.

Edit: As mentioned before removing laptop-mode-tools does indeed fix this issue.

Edit 2:

Apparently

echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/nmi_watchdog
echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/nmi_watchdog

does trigger this bug.

Bug seems to be fixed:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/g … 4124f48905

Guess with upcoming 3.7.2 we should be fine. Thanks for reporting the bug.
