Steps to reproduce:
1. Boot kernel 3.7.0 to gui or console
2. If not already running on battery do so
3. Connect AC power supply -> kernel panic
Here is my bug report.
And here is another one I just found which refers to this commit as a possible cause.
Edit: As mentioned before removing laptop-mode-tools does indeed fix this issue.
Edit 2:
Apparently
echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/nmi_watchdog
echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/nmi_watchdog
does trigger this bug.
