Open source vs Proprietary driver video [Solved]

Hi everybody,

I bought a HP Dv6-6C60Br laptop, it has a graphics driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD 7690M with 1GB DDR5 integrated memory share until 4085MB memory for graphics.

the open source driver works good? or the catalyst is better?

Power management is bad on FOSS drivers (and i am not sure SI is prime time ready yet) so you are better off with catalyst (which also has its drawbacks).

You can try both of course.

I use debian in my PC, and used open source driver for a long time, because property driver was worst, but sometime ago it's good better and i passed use it.

So I'll try both.
