I would like to restrict the edition of a mediaWiki i have in my server to registered memebers, but allow anyone to browse and read. is this possible?

Just for the record (for anyone searching a way to do it):
I searched and read that article, but I thought there was a way without editing the LocalSettings.php, that was why i was asking, as i wanted to change it remotely. Along with the groups. Thats not possible.
The only thing you can do from the wiki page is to reassign users to groups, at least for now with mediawiki 1.5.

I was also looking for this option when one spammer in User-cb Wiki forced me to lock all pages and give sysops permission to selected members.

Thats a shame... but, there is always that kind of people i guess...
I actually like anonymous access, but for now, we are just beginning the GLUG, so we dont want external hands before we go live
