Hi everyone,
I just discovered that all my logfiles (/var/log/auth, mail, everything etc) are empty.
My first thought was it had something to do with the systemd move but afaik I didn't do that yet (no init= kernel line).
Also, journalctl gives no output as well and systemctl can't get a DBus connection.
On the other hand, trying to manually start syslog-ng return error binding socket, no such file...
Apparently I missed out on something, but I don't understand what went wrong.
Can someone help?

If you don't use systemd, journalctl and systemctl won't be of much use.
If you're still using rc.conf, try starting syslog-ng from the DAEMONS array. Works for me and the logs get written OK.
Edit: You should update to the systemd way, but rc.conf still works.

Thanks, while I can't tell what was the actual problem (syslog-ng was in the daemons array), I took the opportunity to finally migrate to systemd (less effort than I expected) and uninstalled syslog-ng
