[SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

Hi. I use 64bits arch with ubuntuone up to date (ubuntu-sso-client 4.0.0-2, ubuntuone-client 4.0.0-3, ubuntuone-control-panel 4.0.0-1 installed from arch's repo). ubuntuone worked fine, but suddenly it refuses to sync, it's stuck doing the local rescan.

u1sdtool -s returns

State: LOCAL_RESCAN
    connection: With User With Network
    description: doing local rescan
    is_connected: False
    is_error: False
    is_online: False
    queues: WORKING

and sometimes ubuntuone-control-panel shows an error (it only shows IPCError without further explanation). There is a python2 process resident in memory (50%CPU, 92MB RAM), I'm sure it's related with ubuntuone.

I don't know if some recent update broke ubuntuone. Last time ubuntuone syncs was yesterday (December 28), since then I've updated

[2012-12-28 23:40] upgraded valgrind (3.8.1-1 -> 3.8.1-2)

Not sure if it's important, I use ubuntuone as root (with
im_ok_with_being_root_pretty_please_let_me_be_root.default = True in syncdaemon.conf).

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

A little advance, I don't know why but now ubuntuone passes the local scan (and the 50%CPU python2 process). However it stucks at the next step

u1sdtool -s

State: SERVER_RESCAN
    connection: With User With Network
    description: doing server rescan
    is_connected: True
    is_error: False
    is_online: False
    queues: WORKING

and ubuntuone-control-panel still shows the IPCError.

Any idea? Thanks.

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

I experience exactly the same problem, since yesterday I'm stuck at local rescan (for the moment). Also 64 bit, everything up to date.

I'm not using ubuntuone as root, so that seems to be irrelevant.

I'm glad to see however that the status could evolve to server rescan. I'm eagerly waiting for this to happen. My guess is that we just need to be patient... smile But being stuck for many hours (and for only 1.6 GB of data in my case) does not plead very highly for ubuntuone.

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

I have the problem also, but my other machine seems to be connected and up to date.

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

Same problem here.
The control panel sais: "File Sync starting...." and I can wait hours for it, no change.
Googling someone on launchpad said that we have to change something in the config, a specific line, which I don't have... weird....
Any info/hints about this?

Don't forget to mark as [SOLVED].

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

Roman, thank you so much for the patch (and for indicator-ubuntuone ;-) ). I cannot test it now, I'll do it when I can and let you know if it works.

PD: you've registered only to inform us of the patch. Thank you again!

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

The patch have been included in ubuntuone-client 4.0.0-4 and fixed the issue. Mark this problem as solved.

PD: to celebrate it I've wrote a PKGBUILD of Roman's indicator-ubuntuone to include it in AUR: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=156836 It's my first build, please add suggestions, corrections,...

Re: [SOLVED] ubuntuone stuck at local rescan

I'm still having this problem with the latest version. I tried reinstalling ubuntuone-client and all its dependencies to no avail.

$ u1sdtool --quit
$ sudo pacman -Rsn ubuntuone-client
$ sudo pacman -S ubuntuone-client

I have the latest version installed:

$ u1sdtool -c
ERROR:root:Could not find any typelib for Unity

$ u1sdtool -s
ERROR:root:Could not find any typelib for Unity
State: LOCAL_RESCAN
    connection: Not User With Network
    description: doing local rescan
    is_connected: False
    is_error: False
    is_online: False
    queues: WORKING

$ pacman -Si ubuntuone-client
