Not booting after update - No error message

Hi everybody,

I did an update today (yaourt -Syu) and everything went just fine. I got some messages that some packages are not required anymore (mostly python stuff, some gnome icons and udisks if I remember correctly) and uninstalled these (pacman -Rs).

I have a Lenovo X230 configured with UEFI usin rEFInd and the system has been running without problems since the first installation. Now, after the update, the system shows a grey screen right after the rEFInd boot menu is displayed and the countdown is over. The top 0.5 cm of the screen is not grey but shows random colors. I do not get any error message whatsoever, it looks like the system is hanging in rEFInd but that's just a guess. That makes it hard to ask google :-(.

This is my productive system, I really need it for work . Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards
Cord

Hello foutrelis,

thank you for the link to the bug report. I will try to downgrade the kernel tomorrow and see whether that works. I'll post the result here.

Re: Not booting after update - No error message

An upgrade to kernel 3.7.7 from [testing] as mentioned in the comments of the bug report solved the issue. Thank's a lot, I'm back to work :-)

I consider this thread as closed.
