Hello,
I have experienced a new error since I installed Arch. I have a laptop (6 years old), when I put it in suspend mode everything goes fine, but when I wake up from the suspend mode the webcam doesn't work. Is there a way to start the module (if its a start up module problem). Bellow you can see the error that gives me:
[ 876.610263] uvcvideo: Failed to set UVC commit control : -32 (exp. 26).
[ 876.610278] uvcvideo 1-8:1.1: resume error -5
Thank you for your time

Try manually doing so: sudo modprobe uvcvideo
What happens? What is the output? Also, right after you come out from suspend, what is dmesg output or check in /var/log for any suspend logs or power management logs.

I can't think of anything in terms of solutions, but you might want to give the forum some more information such as output for lsusb and lsmod and some logs particularly for suspend/resume

There was a bug in the kernel that is similar if not the same as you are experiencing but it was only in 2.6.xx I'll take another look at this when I get to work in 3 hours. I'll post again if I find anything for you to try.
Thanks for the info, makes it easier to provide suggestions.

Hi frank604,
I think I have found a way to load the camera again . So the problem is that I have a firmware for my webcam and the firmware doesn't load after suspend. So I just reload it manually. Now I have another question: Is it possible to create a script to execute after suspend?? Where can I put that script???
Thanks

Sorry didn't get back to this thread, I don't subscribe to the threads. I'm happy to hear reloading the camera got it working. I don't know off the top of my head about executing a script on resume......
