I've seen this problem describe for older (2.6.x era) kernels, but didn't find any info for recent ones. I'm using 3.7.9.
iw dev wlan0 link
freq: 2417
RX: 69541 bytes (494 packets)
TX: 7074 bytes (51 packets)
signal: -77 dBm
tx bitrate: 1.0 MBit/s
bss flags: short-preamble short-slot-time
dtim period: 1
beacon int: 100
The router is set to use wireless n with WPA2-PSK.
Setting the following in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf works as expected speed-wise. I still get drop-outs though.
options iwlwifi bt_coex_active=0
options iwlfifi 11n_disable=1
freq: 2462
RX: 8802143 bytes (11596 packets)
TX: 1062732 bytes (5687 packets)
signal: -70 dBm
tx bitrate: 43.3 MBit/s MCS 4 short GI
bss flags: CTS-protection short-preamble short-slot-time
dtim period: 1
beacon int: 100
I can't remember when this situation started, but I'm sure somewhere in the 3.x era.
