What does beta 7 do or fix? Because on the amd website, there is no sign of an Linux beta 7 driver, only beta 6.
From Amd site:
(Please note that AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta 7 includes all of the fixes found in previous versions of AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta)
FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE AMD CATALYST 13.2 BETA 7 DRIVER
Resolves an intermittent hang seen in Crossfire configurations with the new Crysis 3 patch.

Also look at the fullscreen fps:
[deden@archlinux-salon ~]$ fgl_glxgears Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer 1378 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.600 FPS 120 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.000 FPS 114 frames in 5.0 seconds = 22.800 FPS 117 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.400 FPS 119 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.800 FPS 121 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.200 FPS 120 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.000 FPS 116 frames in 5.0 seconds = 23.200 FPS 121 frames in 5.0 seconds = 24.200 FPS
It's almost constant 24 fps max, like some hard-lock. It's rendering even less (but still around 24fps) which is probably killing movies...
Maybe there's some config for this or process which is doing some mess. I wrote about switching to kde/gnome but i had in mind any other DE (i'm using kde and testing gnome sometimes so i can tell it's working fine there, but you may use lxde or fluxbox or any other stable) to only check how it works there.
Edit: another thing: how it will work if you will enable TearFree? (though i doubt it would help)

Did you try how it performes in a game? Like xonotic, UT?
I haven't tried yet because i was guessing that performance would not change. But it's a good idea. I will try this evening.

I'll try with an other DE this evening too.
I have already tried enabling TearFree but it doesn't change a thing.

That is the Windows beta changelog, not the Linux one. I'm not interested in the Windows changelog.

My bad but then you should also know that AMD didn't release any changelog for linux. So nobody knows yet

AMD also didn't really release this driver. That's my point. Only beta 6 is "official".

Beta 6 also wasn't mentioned (even by a link to download) on amd site when it was released (edit: i mean was available to download)

Well, then I wait till I see it offically release on the amd site.
Also phoronix is not AMD and not an official release. Besides that, they, respectively him is a very bad journalist.

He's not that bad. 3 years ago he predicted steam client for linux from he's crystal ball!

It is not Phoronix who release this driver. They only report that beta7 is released for download and if they/him is a bad journalist or not doesnt change the fact that the beta7 driver is on ati servers wich make's it an amd release. Check download link in my post.

@ruien and @Vi0L0
I have tried with another DE (Fluxbox) and i get 60FPS stable with fgl_glxgears in window and in fulls screen mode.
I have also tried xonotic (which seem to be a nice game by the way) and the "showfps" command tell me that i have got 75FPS stable (There's no lags during the game). On the other side, the game crashes if i try to change default graphic configuration...
EDIT : I have just tried video on fluxbox and it's working perfecly. It seems related to XFCE. I keep on searching.

^ Try disabling XFCE's builtin compositor

Yeahh, it did it !
Since this evening, I have another issue. I get stuck to 60FPS and can't go further...But I'll don't bother you with that and try to solve it by myself.
A great thank to everyone (I was begining to think to give up) ! Have a great week-end !
EDIT : I have solved my 60FPS stuck problem by disabling the V-sync. All is now great.

... wasn't using xfce for ages, so it has now builtin compositor which is limiting fps to 24 max?

I haven't seen others XFCE users complaining about such a behave, but for me desabling XFCE compositor correct my 24FPS limitation when i was using full screen application. Thanks again for you help !

Try starting xonotic(SDL) and then change your settings. On apply it should restart and load the new settings instead of crashing.
And yes its a realy cool game Have fun

Glad we fixed it!
You could try running a standalone compositor (like xcompmgr or compton - cairo-compmgr always gave me trouble) in Fluxbox/Openbox/whatever standalone WM you have installed, just to see if it it is with compositing in general or just XFCE's compositor.

Just switched to xfce4 to check how it works for me, and it's working perfectly fine with builitin compositor.
@Phitherek_:
works fine here, are you sure that you changed repo' address to catalyst.wirephire.com

AMD cards are getting rly good nowadays, right?? Is there anything from AMD about legacy hd234k support ?

Then everything seems to be fine but as viOLO said i doubt it has something to do with xfce4 compositor. But if its running fine for you then stick to it Happy gaming
