Hi
Since a recent Networkmanager update I cannot connect to my Samba shares anymore. Also, my xbmc and vlc remotes over android cannot connect either. I decided to downgrade networkmanager from 0.9.8 to 0.9.6 and as a result I lost my internet connection and KDE takes forever to boot and when it does half of the things doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas?
Cheers

[EDIT] turns out uninstalling networkmanager, deleting /etc/NetworkManager fixes the boot issue. Reinstalling networkmanager and everything is fixed. However, I cannot seem to downgrade (as /etc/NetworkManager doesn't get restored automatically), which means that for the time being I cannot remotely connect to my archbox.

Uhh...
if it helps at all, here's a list of files that consist of /etc/NetworkManager/
networkmanager /etc/NetworkManager/
networkmanager /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf
networkmanager /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/
networkmanager /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/I got it from running
$ pacman -Ql networkmanager | grep /etcIn retrospect, that probably didn't help at all... have you tried just downloading the tar file for networkmanager and manually install /etc/NetworkManager/, or maybe removing the more networkmanager tar files from your /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ directory and then reinstalling networkmanager might help... I dunno.

Hey lspci,
Thx for offering your help. As for /etc/NetworkManager , I am aware, indeed. I still have the old version (0.9.6) of NetworkManager in my /var/cache so I tried to first uninstall ver. 0.9.8, then delete /etc/NetworkManager and then install ver. 0.9.6 from the cache. Upon reboot, however, KDM i.e. the splash screen seems to be stuck forever. The next NetworkManager update might fix my remote/server issues. Since I have some important work coming up I don't wanna mess around with my computer too much. I will see whether I can work on my netbook and take it from there. Should you find a solution in the meantime (i.e. if you are looking for one
), lemme know.
Cheers

Well, I am having problems with Network manager, but they're unrelated to KDE, at least... I think they are. Presently, I just can't connect using Network manager, so I've just been using netcfg to connect to my network and systemctl to stop networkmanager whenever it starts up, which it does due to a few applications, which seem to call for it.

I briefly had problems connecting with networkmanager as well. I started to play around with dhcpcd, enabling it (again) in systemd and ever since everything works as it should. Since I use the KDE networkmanagement applet I would like to keep running networkmanager.
