Need help with openvpn

On my macbook, I am able to connect to a NAS at my parents home, type in the local router IP and access it. I can't seem to find a way to do it on my arch box. I can connect and I am able to use the internet, but I cannot access the LAN. Searching for how to do this online, they all talk about changing things on the server side, but being that it works fine on my macbook I don't think thats the case. I assume I need to route all my connection through the vpn connection on this arch box.
