[SOLVED] Has anyone else seen this? "pacman -Sf" invalid option

After the pacman upgrade yesterday, it appears the force option no longer works in pacman. Is that intentional, you think?

Why: You really shouldn't use --force unless you absolutely mean it and know what you are doing.

Wonder why you were using -f in the first place when it has been drilled into Arch users not to use it UNLESS specifically directed by devs (who appear to know what they are doing)
