I don't have any sound on HDMI output on 3.8 Kernel:
[studio@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost 3.6.11-rt25-1-rt #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Tue Dec 25 00:18:17 CET 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[studio@localhost ~]$ aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Mono
[studio@localhost ~]$
I can hear the test
[studio@localhost ~]$ uname -a
Linux localhost 3.8.6-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Apr 6 07:27:01 CEST 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[studio@localhost ~]$ aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 48000 Hz, Mono
[studio@localhost ~]$
I hear nothing
ALSO: on 3.8 I can set my TV only to 30Hz as on 3.6 I can set it to 60Hz
what could be the problem?

installed 3.7.10 with "downgrade" from AUR;
Sound is working, BUT only 30Hz for the screen
is this upstream bug?

is this upstream bug?
If downgrading only the kernel has reverted to a working state, it seems so. To help, you can bisect the kernel to see the "offending" commit, and then fill a bug to the appropriate driver.

it seams that all 3.7.x kernels have the broken Hz-rate problem and all 3.8.x kernels have the broken sound added to the 3.7.x problem
I have googled some problems regarding HDMI since 3.7 but haven't found this same problem.....I might not search the right terms
