OpenVPN and DNS

Hi,

What's the best way to make sure that DNS requests pass through the VPN connection?

Simple way I see is to edit /etc/resolv.conf .

Hard way would be with iptables I guess, but I don't see how. Main Internet connection is through router gateway, using wifi. I could redirect everything that wants to exit through router gateway to tun interface, but it's too complicated for me, just configuring resolv.conf would get rid of any potential DNS leak?

Re: OpenVPN and DNS

sudo tcpdump -i your-wifi-interface port 53

If it shows anything then you are leaking.
