Right backup solution for distant server with RAID5?

Hi,

hopefully this is the right place to ask this question.

I'm looking for a backup solution to store a full systemdisk image, plus the corresponding UEFI rEFInd entrys and GUID Partition Tables, in case I want to make an update, especially a kernelupdate. The last time I did this, nobody qualified was around to look after the machine, 800km away. As Archlinux is a rolling release, I want to be able to update without messing around to long, and be save afterwards if it breaks.

rEFInd update script seems to be unreliable, but I don't want to change the whole thing within a few years, so I've to go for it. I got a bad breakage with the systemd updatescript for rEFInd last weekend, so I'm quite sensitive with that issue at the moment.

I want to backup the data on an own partition on the RAID5 and it would be nice to restore it easily, especially when the available "personell" wink isn't qualified at all.

All suggestions are welcome!

Hi,

I just did some googling, and maybe there is a page that helps you:

http://www.linuxlinks.com/article/20090 … ackup.html

I'm not sure if all of the tools are still in development, but maybe you can give it a try.

Thx for the oversight and sorry for the late reply. Have been on a field trip.
