Traducir a español

Estoy traduciendo una programa al español, y tengo una pregunta sobre los mandatos. Generalmente en programas, cuando se da un mandato al usador, se usa la forma de tú o de Ud.? Español no es mi lengua nativa.

I'm answering in spanish, but you should consider writing a copy of the post in english, since this is an english-language forum.

En manuales, se usa la forma Ud (omitido).

ej: 
Pulse el botón inicio; 
Abra el archivo; 
Dirijase a mis documentos;

En opciones del programa, el infinitivo

ej: 
Guardar archivo; 
Mostrar herramientas; 
Configurar;
