samba -- any risk with guest account = root for ro shares?

To simplify sharing directories the default user "nobody" doesn't have access to, I used

 user account = root

in the global section of smb.conf.  All of my shares are configured to be read only in samba.

Am I inviting some sort of problem by doing this?  I can't find anything that definitively says its bad, but I'm used to approaching things involving root  with an abundance of caution, especially when I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing.
