Tor and Mutt not sending mail
I use tor and am looking to pipe my email throught it as well as my normal tcp connections. I used to use msmtp to do this, but it threw errors. I then set up mutt, my email client, to use its native mtp system to send mail, and when using mutt through the torify wrapper mutt hangs on 'connecting to mail.gmx.com'. Any ideas as to why this might be?

Maybe you have more luck with mail.gmx.net.
That's their gateway I know.

I checked, it's .com not .net
also, I am having this issue with my yahoo account as well. It appears, after some research, that tor exit nodes may block email. I fear that, while I can download my emails, I cannot send them.
If anyone knows of a way arounnd this, please let me know.

Using socksify (part of dante package), Mutt/msmtp works with tor for me without issues.
Still, if your mail provider blocks exit nodes, nothing can be done about it. But I don't think that's your problem.
