Updating kernel problem

I installed archlinux couple of months ago, my kernel at that time was 3.6.8-1-ARCH the same as right now, the thing is when I try to update new kernel, the system boot and display the same old kernel version, no modules can be loaded because of this, I downgrade to 3.6.8-1-ARCH and everything is working, but I want to update to a new kernel version.

I try lot of things to get this fixed without success, if someone knows how to fix this, please let me know!

thanks in advance.

While that's good, it'd be a lot better if you told us what these 'things' were so we know where to go next.

Things I try:

1.  grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
2.  depmod -a
3.  changing vmlinuz and initrd name then update grub

Re: Updating kernel problem

Is /boot mounted if it is a separate partition?

Did you try reinstalling grub to disk?

Re: Updating kernel problem

Using UEFI, did you copy the kernel to wherever it's actually being loaded from?
