Long shutdown - tap networking with openvpn

Hello,

I've recently make a few change to my network configuration following the instructions given here :

I've made those changes in order to use tap networking with qemu. So far it seems to work.

However, shutdown takes more time than usual. (Not that long, but i was used to really fast shutdown)

I've followed thoses instructions in order to give you some debug data :

any idea why it is so long to shutdown ?

If it's not that long, it might not be a bug... I don't pretend to be a networking guru, but if you used to have super-fast shutdowns and then installed a bunch of new software, enabled new services, some loss is expected. If it's not too long, that is. Now that I'm looking at your log, something weird happened at 145: "[ 145.930842] irq 16: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option)." Have you tried that? Again, not an expert, just looking for sparking wires. That following section is bad juju.

Thanks for your answer, I've tried booting with irqpoll, shutdown is still longer than usual.

Been thinking about your problem... does that block of error messages show up anywhere else in dmesg? I have this feeling it's related to Qemu interfering with IRQ 16, which happens to be right next to 15, used for "secondary ATA channel." Have you been having random performance problems while using Qemu?

This looks like a bug more than anything. Perhaps you should file a report.
