[Gnome 3.8] Getting back nautilus-open-terminal feature ?

As gnome 3.8 hits testing, I upgraded my laptop running archlinux with testing and gnome 3.6.

I noticed nautilus-open-terminal was removed, conflicting with gnome-terminal. Any tip to get back this feature ?

I'm using it a lot with gnome 3.6.

Thanks.

Re: [Gnome 3.8] Getting back nautilus-open-terminal feature ?

Wasn't it migrated to libnautilus-extension pkg?

Re: [Gnome 3.8] Getting back nautilus-open-terminal feature ?

The only solution is to migrate to KDE, this option is integrated natively and never will be removed in a future release. Whenever gnome people launch major updates, turn out to be an ordeal for ordinary users, they remove many important features for useless options. This is just a personal opinion.

This is the worst answer I see in years !

You know, I think KDE is horrible, bloated. So keep it, and stop spamming this thread.

Spamming is pollution. Not giving an answer. My opinion on KDE ? As I used it when it was in 0.12 version, I think it was bloated. It doesn't change since.

And if you don't have any answer to my question, please, just leave.

The answer is to migrate to KDE.  I have 10 years using linux and GNOME till the crap that GNOME3 is. . . So if you think thats not a solution is your problem. . .

Look my posts finding for solutions on Gnome threads and compare them with KDE threads. . .

Don't answer me please

nautilus-open-terminal has been integrated in gnome-terminal sources. We build the extension by default, so you shouldn't notice a difference.

So, how to activate it, please ? I used to get open in terminal when right clicking on a nautilus window. Thanks for your kind answer.

Re: [Gnome 3.8] Getting back nautilus-open-terminal feature ?

I'm wondering this too, I'm hearing a whole lot of 'its built by default' and such but I don't see it anywhere in gnome 3.8... There's no open terminal entry in the right click menu...

If its intended to be built and enabled by default in arch's gnome 3.8, then it isn't working.

Yes, it's somewhat broken.

Arch devs don't patch things especially when upstream warns that it is experimental. You will just have to wait until upstream merges it into a release.

Could be great to have it for gnome 3.8.1. Will see ! And if I read it right, it is already added on master... So for gnome 3.8.1 ?!

Yes, the next gnome-terminal release (3.8.0.2 or 3.8.1) will have this fixed in any case.

Re: [Gnome 3.8] Getting back nautilus-open-terminal feature ?

I saw libnautilus-extension support is disabled in gnome-terminal-3.8.0.1-3. Does it mean that nautilus-open-terminal will not conflict with gnome-terminal anymore ?

Re: [Gnome 3.8] Getting back nautilus-open-terminal feature ?

What is the current state on this?

I use libnautilus-extension    3.8.2-1 and nautilus    3.8.2-1 but I do not have any context menu entries to open a terminal from a directory.

EDIT:

Is gnome-terminal built using the --with-nautilus-extension switch?

I decided to create the custom action myself using `Nautilus Actions`.

Just to give that thread some closure: The package nautilus-open-terminal is in the extra repository and works with gnome 3.8.
