[SOLVED] Pulseaudio install resulted in no network

I have a new install that was working great.  Tonight I installed pulseaudio and pulseaudio-alsa, rebooted, and my network would no longer work.  Very strange.

It's an e1000e, Intel 1000/pro card.  The link lights are on, 'ip link' is reporting the interface is up, dhcpcd service is reporting it is rebinding my correct IP lease, but no IP address attached to the "enp3s0" interface.

I uninstall (pacman -Rsn) pulseaudio and pulseaudio-alsa, rebooted, same problem.  I've also tried 'system restart dhcpcd.service' and un/plugging the cat5 cable, no luck.  The loopback interface works.

Any ideas?

Okay, well, if uninstalling pulse didn't fix the problem then I'd be really surprised to find out that pulse caused the problem. When you say your network "no longer works" what do you mean?

All the best,

... "but no IP address attached to the "enp3s0" interface".  So I have a (only) NIC without an IP.

Installing PA was the only thing that changed, however unlikely it may be.

Thanks.

Problem solved.

Crunchbang Linux and Windows gave me the same issue.  I traced the problem to the DD-WRT router switchport.  Other ports worked fine.  Rebooted, and now the original port works.

Crunchbang isn't Arch, by the way. Support should be in their own forums at crunchbang.org
