I've just upgraded my system and after every reboot it prompts "fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed"... then just hangs. I have ck-linux kernel and Nvidia drivers both from [ck-repo]. From output lines I figured it has something to do with elevator (even though every information I've found on the internet about the issue wasn't elevator-related but rather nvidia specific) so I've disabled BFQ and now I can tell you the story. Still, I would like to use BFQ... is it any known issue?

I cannot boot linux-ck-nehalem (3.10.8-1) as well and have to switch to the ARCH kernel.
The issue is not related to NVIDIA - I have an ATI card installed.

Same here. Just upgraded my system, have an intel video card. system hangs after mounting root fs, message on screen says /dev/sda2: clean ****files, ***blocks (***are actual numbers). booting prior to this gives normal messages. system boots all the way up with core kernel. Going in and removing /etc/tmpfiles.d/set_IO_scheduler.conf allows ck kernel to boot all the way up.

I had the same problem (linux-ck-core2 3.10.8-1). I solved it with:
# mkinitcpio -p linux-ckOffline
Same problem here, with intel video card.
doing "mkinitcpio -p linux-ck" as #4 mentioned doesn't help.

Same problem... with graysky's repo-ck precompiled kernels. Seems there is a patch...? Do the ck packages from AUR have the same problem?

I will look into that BFQ patch when I are lease 3.10.9-1 later this afternoon, my understanding through reading anecdotal reports is that indeed, BFQ and 3.10.8 do not play well together.

Hi all, I was just asking myself why I was not affected by this bug.
Well, I am , but I have a script , so I can keep working with another elevator enabled.
Not a solution, but nice for this kind of situations.
I have put the script on GitHub,

Phew... I was getting worried there was something wrong with my config.

I would prefer it would be about my config - problem would be solved fast and clean by a simple change... and now I need to wait for upstream/developers/smart guys to have my PC set up as I want. ;-)

Update to 3.10.9-1-ck appears to have fixed issue.
Re-added
elevator=bfqto kernal line & ran
mkinitcpio -p linux-ck& successfully rebooted.
edit : thanks to graysky

If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Clean the [censored] car. -The Wolf

Just as an update, here is an email from the developer, Paolo:
Definitely. We are actually preparing a new revision with even more fixes. If it takes too long, we will release an intermediate revision first.
