Nobody so far has mentioned not being in your right mind. While I can imagine this not being on the list of desiderata for the post, surely it is an essential characteristic of those who accept the offer?

Anyone who would install a system developed by Allan is clearly not in their right mind. I thought that went without saying.

A good point mysteriously missing from the FAQ.

I think the Freenode "Catalysts" document is a good guide for anyone (wanting to be|is) a moderator. Actually, it's a good guideline for anyone wanting to be part of the community.

My opinion only, does not necessarily represent the views of the rest of the moderator team wink

Apparently a prerequisite for being here at all.

Well, I suppose there probably is a tendency for more left-minded people here than right-minded.

What is the order of authority around here? Or are admins and developers and arch overlord and forum fellows and moderators and archivist on the same level? Is this worth a new topic?

EDIT: ^"and archivist" (sorry karol) and fixed overlords->overlord

It as an anarchy.

Well, not really.  It is an oligarchy led by Allan and Falconindy. tongue

Re: How does one become a moderator, administrator, etc?

The forum moderators and (some) admins are basically left to handle the forums.  Other people who have (mostly hidden) admin rights just do the software upgrades, so do not contribute.   My hidden admin rights are just used to annoy people and poke my nose in where it is not wanted!

Forum fellows are those that used to be in the mod team but have left, so they have no power.   The Arch overlord sees the forum complaint emails and sometimes replies if needed, but generally leaves the forum team to their job.  Developers might be queried if their input is warranted, but have no forum powers.

karol is actually a five-man research term based in Krakow: Krakow Arch Linux Research Organization. KALRO -> karol

Carol != Karol.  I don't know if the name is entirely gender specific, but I'm pretty sure the last pope (wait, one before last) was a he.

Do you mean that the Caerleon Arch Linux Research Organisation is not extensionally identical with the Krakow Arch Linux Research Organization or that they are not intensionally equivalent?

They are not intensionally equivalent.  Nor are they intentionally equivalent.

As an aside, I'd be very interested in an extensional definiton of "extensional definition" - I can only find ostenive definitions for this term.

You are interested in paradoxes, then?
