I am using KDE 4.11-3.
Does anyone knows what is the problem?

Are you installing calibre and all it's dependencies from the Arch repositories or from the binary install from their website? Working fine here (v. 1.1.0-1) via community repo.

I am using calibre from the Arch repositories (installed using yaourt)

Try uninstalling it and using pacman....it's in community, not the AUR. AUR helpers that try to do pacman's job aren't always successful outside the AUR :-) I'm suspecting a missing dependency, but not 100% sure.

You said you updated calibre, did you update everything else with it? ie pacman -Syu (or yaourt -Syu)?

I allays update all using yaurt -Syua.
I had a problem during update of calibre or python, I don't remember, that some files have been already present.
So I removed them manually. I know now that I should use -f switch in that case... It was the first time I see such a problem with yaourt.
And generally in last few days my Arch system started to behave strange, I have experienced few freezes. And why is ctr+alt+sys_req+REISUB turned off?

Try downgrading some packages as described on https://bugs.archlinux.org/36652

This means that pacman has lost track of files on your system or you have installed software outside pacman. Either way, you need to address this.

I am not familiar with yaourt but if this is anything like pacman's --force it is absolutely NOT what you should do. However, as I say, I am not familiar with yaourt.
EDIT: I just looked this up and it indeed forces the install. You should never do this unless you know exactly what you are doing and/or the developers recommend it. Even then, you should think before you act. The only other case in which you should use it is if you positively wish a broken system and don't have time to wait for Allan to do it for you.

It is off by default for security reasons. You can easily enable it if you wish as explained in the wiki.

I have downgraded sip and python2-sip package to 4.14.7 but now I am getting different exception:
RuntimeError: Failed to load the Progress Indicator plugin: the sip module implements API v10.0 but the progress_indicator module requires API v10.1
Thanks for helping me. At least I know that package is broken...

Of course... calibre is built against sip 4.15.*, so it will not work with any previous version.

Calibre starts without segfaulting here and I haven't had to downgrade anything. Try with everything upgraded properly as arojas suggested.
