Re: The Arch Hurd Project

funtastic project guys. I've been interested in HURD for almost a decade now. And like dcc24 says it's a said article, but true.

Did any of you thought of changing this sad story and start contributing to the kernel's development? I've been interested in doing it for some time, but the lack of time and the constant change in the projects direction allied with not very good communication skills on the part of the project, have been blocking my motivation to do it tongue

We haven't really thought about it yet; we've been busy getting things packaged and functioning first.

Good work guys!! Running crosshurd out of curiosity big_smile

I did a couple of fixes in the get-sources script, though. I've included them in the Alternate Installation page as some sed magic. smile

Sure thing, seeding is something that's not very hard =p
I don't have very good up-speed, but my server is online 24/7 so I hope it will help.

I have a dedicated seed box located at London, with 30MB/s (yeah that's MB not Mb) upspeed and I'll be seeding this iso for the next few months. Enjoy smile

Re: The Arch Hurd Project

Thanks a lot for seeding, big_smile

We don't have such a high bandwith and the live CD is very popular, It had around 850 downloads already and we don't have that much money for paying additional bandwith.

Hello!

So, there's no escape anymore: we'll have to release next year, 2011.
Finally.  As far as I know, *everyone* is expecting Duke Nukem Forever
and the GNU Hurd to appear at the same time, yet to be bundeled (see
<http://twitter.com/migueldeicaza/status/16015861821>).

| We don't do a whole lot of gaming news (a few reviews every now and then,

| exception. Iconic and legendary, Duke Nukem is going to really really
| really return to the main stage of gaming. Borderlands developer Gearbox
| has announced that Duke Nukem Forever will be released early next year,
| for both consoles and PC. A playable demo is now being trotted around
| PAX. Instant update: VIDEO! VIDEO!

Michael Banck then suggested "Let's contact them for a coordinated release on 4/1/11."

Nice smile. Instantly checked for necro-bumping, but I think as the project is (presumably) still active you're all fine. All the best.

I would say with packages only for i686 and the last updates in their core repositories being in March of this year (provided I read the dates correctly), I would say it's dead...

(We'll probably be told off for necrobumping.)
