dmraid only detects partitions on first raid set

My motherboard is using Intel "fake RAID" (both arrays are RAID1 mirrors) and both volumes are being detected on boot, but only the first volume has any partitions detected.

I found an older post with the same issue, but it had no responses other than from the original poster.

I can successfully use 'partprobe' to make the missing RAID partitions appear, but having to run that each time seems like a band-aid.
There has to be an easier way to work around this issue. Has anyone else come across this issue, and if so, what could I use to resolve it?
