[SOLVED] Cinnamon 2.0.6-2 crashes with pulseaudio-4.0.5

Hello
After yesterdays cinnamon update issue have been solved I've proceeded with full system update only to find Cinnamon crashing again, though error comes from different package this time.
After starting X with startx Cinnamon opens up, then pops message like "Cinnamon has crashed and is running in fallback mode, do you want to restart?" if I restart same thing happens if I don't environment hangs up.
I have concluded that culprit is libpulse-4.0.5 and/or pulseaudio-4.0.5 since one cant be installed without other there is no way telling witch it is - I've everything else up to date except for these 2 packages and everything is working.

here is jurnalctl -b

Re: [SOLVED] Cinnamon 2.0.6-2 crashes with pulseaudio-4.0.5

Cinnamon settings daemon isn't happy on your set-up. Have you updated that package to 2.0.5-1?

Actually a better question is this: Are the outputs of pacman -Qs pulse and pacman -Qs cinnamon the same as mine (for the packages we have both installed)?

Re: [SOLVED] Cinnamon 2.0.6-2 crashes with pulseaudio-4.0.5

All package other then:

local/libao 1.1.0-3
Cross-platform audio output library and plugins

are the same, libao is missing, though installing it changes nothing.

During pulseaudio upgrade I do get notification such as

>>> If you have per-user copies of configuration files (such as client.conf,
daemon.conf or default.pa) in ~/.config/pulse or ~/.pulse/, make sure you
keep them in sync with changes to the packaged files in /etc/pulse/.
Otherwise, PulseAudio may refuse to start due to configuration errors.
New optional dependencies for pulseaudio
    bluez: bluetooth support [installed]
    python-pyqt: Equalizer GUI (qpaeq)

Though I do not have any user specific pulse configuration files

Hmm... I'm at a loss in that case.

EDIT: Whilst this is not related to your problem, it seems you aren't the only person that is having a problem with pulseaudio. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=172046

Re: [SOLVED] Cinnamon 2.0.6-2 crashes with pulseaudio-4.0.5

I doubt it is any configuration problem though, tried rolling back to earliest backup I have, that is clean fresh installed arch with bare-minimum to run cinnamon - same problem after update

Guess for now I'll stick with old pulseaudio and hope maybe something get fixed in future.

Thanks for help.

Re: [SOLVED] Cinnamon 2.0.6-2 crashes with pulseaudio-4.0.5

Sorry for bump

Just for sake of testing I have installed fresh copy of Arch and same problem persist. Strangely enough it does't occur on fresh test installation of 64bit version.
I was running 3.10-x and 3.11-x 32 bit pae kernels before.

clfarron4 are you running 64bit?

I am running 64bit (and have been running only 64bit OSs since 2008).

Re: [SOLVED] Cinnamon 2.0.6-2 crashes with pulseaudio-4.0.5

issue has been solved with most recent update of cinnamon and pulseaudio. Though now I wonder whether or not should I stay with my fresh x64 that already have everything that I need or my old 32bit pae system..
