I have 2 acer laptops and im having the ISOLINUX 6.02 ETCD isolinux Disk error 01 AX 427E drive FE message. The acer 5532 that is around 3 or 4 years old i can install the latest iso without problems and my other acer 5741 laptop gives the the install error. both of my laptops i was able to install arch linux with 0 problems until now. my acer 5741 is better hardware and is around 3 or 4 years old and has i5 processor and 4 gig memory. other linux distro like the new suse 13.1 i can install but i have the problem with black screen and i have the black screen problem also with arch linux but in arch linux i can fix that but i dont know how to fix that in other distros. i never had this problem before the latest iso release. both of my laptops do not have uefi.

i did read those but they didn't work out for me. i also tried creating the usb to install using dd.exe if=archlinux-2013.11.01-dual.iso of=\\.\f: bs=4M and it finished with no errors. when i tried to boot my laptop using the usb i got missing operating system.

You can try a previous release https://www.archlinux.org/releng/releases/ or the December iso once it gets out.

I still have the issue on my computer with syslinux 6.02-8 package (in 2013.12.01 ISO) I'm only able to boot with syslinux 4.07
PS: @WonderWoofy I didn't find it easy to google for a boot problem and find this specific issue...

Sounds like you have problem with SYSLINUX (installed on your system) not ISOLINUX, right? If this is the case, please report the issue to the upstream. Thanks.
