ADSL PPTP slow connection

Hi guys,

i re-installed recently Arch on my new hard drive & i experience download speed slowdowns. i can't get a constant speed, it always goes up to 40 Kbps and then down to 2-5 Kbps. and my connection is 1024 down / 512 up. I connect through PPTP and before the re-install i didn't experience such slowdowns. i was hoping someone can help me. i have no clue where to look for the problem. Could it be the kernel? here is the output of my options.pptp file.

since i used the PKGBUILD for pptp from AUR, do i need to re-compile ppp with the mppe-mppc patch? i would like some help , before i start things on my own & mess up something.
