WICD wont recognize my USB tethered phone (SOLVED)

Just installed archbang on my desktop and everything looks great but i cannot get access to the internet as i use my phone to tether through usb. this has always worked for me coming from ubuntu w/ network manager and no configuration. i am totally lost as i am very much a noob. would really like to stick with archbang, its so fast! please help!

i still have access from my netbook w/ ubuntu.

1. ive already googled this for hours (and hours) before posting.

2. ive already read that exact thread and tried changing it to eth1 which didnt work

Which interfaces are listed if you run "ifconfig" on a shell? Is your phone listed there? Please post the output.

heres the output for ifconfig, i dont know how to interpret it but i do know that my phone shows up in the file manager when i mount it. im not sure if i am supposed to mount it to tether or not im pretty sure i tried both but i never had to mount with network manager and i believe youre not supposed to according to the new android OS. hope this helps!

woah major stroke of luck thanks to you! i was curious what may be missing on the output so i ran the same command on my netbook and "usb0" popped up with the phone info. I went back to the desktop and changed the WICD preferences (wired interface) from eth0 to usb0 and it worked!
