Hi,
While I run 'sudo pacman -Syu' to upgrade my PC, it synchronises all the package DBs but then shows 'Nothing to do'. However, I saw that the new kernel 3.12.7.2 is already released in the Arch files.
Please someone suggest me what to do to get the package db synced and it updates itself. I have already generated the new mirrorlist but it didn't help.
Regards,
swaroop

You didn't say neither how did you generated the new mirrorlist nor which mirror are you using.
Use reflector, pick another mirror and try again.

Sorry for not mentioning earlier.
I used the page https://www.archlinux.org/mirrorlist/ to generate a new mirrorlist and am currently using the US mirror http://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch thinking that the Indian server http://mirror.cse.iitk.ac.in/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch may not have the updated data. Do I need to generate a new mirrorlist once again?

http://mirrors.kernel.org/archlinux/$repo/os/$arch has linux-3.12.7-2-i686.pkg.tar.xz since Jan 12th.
Run 'pacman -Syyu' to try again.

you don't have the package(s) listed in the IgnorePkg in your pacman.conf do you?
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !
