I use wicd as my network manager with default settings unless I changed something small and can't remember, I've been having this problem recently where I'll connect my arch linux laptop to a wireless network and have good fast internet of 400kb/s to 1mb/s download speeds being average, 1200kb/s is my most common at home though. The connection is very strong and I have no trouble connecting to a network in most cases. However, at the most random times, and I say random because I've had it were it would disconnect me from an internet immediately and other times where it took up to 30 seconds and yet other times when I could get a few minutes before I disconnect, wicd will go from connected to not connected for seemingly no reason. I've watched it connect and then disconnect when i've done nothing but stare at the screen. When I finally get fed up with being disconnected every few seconds/minutes I switch to my windows partition on the same laptop and the internet works as it should if not quite as fast a speed as I would get on linux (averaging 300-600kb/s tops). I don't even know where to begin the troubleshoot for this obvious problem but I can follow my way through a command line interface and the rest of my arch linux install works fine. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated and I thank thee in advanced.

From what I've seen, no. I ran the
systemctl
but only wicd showed up as far as network control is concerned. I was working on my arch linux partition when the internet gave out underneath me and then my computer simply couldn't see it anymore. I could see every network in the neighborhood except mine. I restarted but that didn't fix the problem either. I will probably check back when my work is done and I have more time to troubleshoot. Also, if I could be given exact commands to type into the terminal and what I'm looking for exactly it would be much appreciated.

When you say you restarted, it's not clear if this was your computer or router. Since you are seeing some networks, this suggests your computer is working correctly. Try restarting your router and see if it pops up on your computer.
Beyond that, what wifi card are you using? I've recently learned that rtl8188 and rtl8192 cards tend to exhibit this behavior.

Thanks for the response. I didn't think it was the router because it was happening on the home, school, mom's house, and just about every network I connected to. Now the problem faded away slowly and simply doesn't happen any more. My wifi card is a BCM4312. At least that's what I get when I enter
lspci -vnn | grep 14e4:
into the terminal. I've no problem at all now and will mark thread as solved though there's no real solution weird.
