exim

i m trying to get a basic exim+fetchmail+mutt config.
but fetchmail complains with "554 SMTP service not available" errors.

same with :telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.localdomain.
Escape character is '^]'.
554 SMTP service not available
Connection closed by foreign host.

I tried to play around with hosts.allow and a little bit with /etc/mail/exim.comf but i am getting nowhere !

any help would be great !
